Big, Wet Sloppy World was recorded at the turn of the Millennium at the old Audio Arts Recording on South Congress Avenue. Audio Arts shared a wall with the Continental Club and a lot of the recording was done during Toni Price’s happy hour.
This is a happy, whimsical CD that covers a variety of topics and styles. The instrumentation includes Stephan Paetzold on violin, Nina Singh on drums and backing vocals, Boomer Norman on guitar and features guest appearances by trombonist Jon Blondell (featured on Sublime’s hit “The Wrong Way”), banjo player Louis Jay Meyers (head of the American Folk Alliance), and French Speaker Lindsey Simon, who is currently on an artistic hiatus and working for Google.
This is a fun CD. Hope you like it.
Here’s what Local Flavor – an indie retailer of Austin music – had to say about Big, Wet, Sloppy World:
“A striking piece of contemporary songwriting, astoundingly intelligent and full of heart, filled with fine players and rich vocals. This CD could spin on pop, roots rock, Americana, AOR, or modern rock formats and would stand out on any of them. It\’s gonna be a contender this year.”
